Choosing hollowing tools

Measure the opening and approach

Use the maker's documented head or shaft profile and think about the path from the opening to the area you need to reach. A hollowing tool can be longer overall without having the geometry for a shoulder.

Check the supported system

Compare the cutting head, shaft, handle and any required support described by the maker. If the head rotates or detaches, identify the exact replacement and screw before buying spares.

Do I need a curved tool for every hollow form?

Choose the shaft shape for the approach needed inside your piece. An open bowl and a narrow vessel are different cases.

Can I interchange heads from two systems?

Use only a head documented for the tool body and fastener you have.
